Senior Thesis: MEANT FOR SOMETHING MORE

The word ‘habromania’, is an outdated term for people having delusions of happiness. My way of defining this word is by saying that people who struggle with depression and other mental illnesses give off the impression that they are happy, to protect the people around them. Although, if they are lucky, they find these little moments; like snapshots in time to remind people why they keep fighting. I became a photographer because at a young age I knew I wanted to capture important moments so that they would last forever. Now I know that the small moments are important too and that is what I wanted to convey through my images.

“Meant for Something More’, is a series of my happy moments. Throughout the past few years, I have been struggling with depression and trying to find ways to deal with the darkness that lingers all around me. There were times where I felt like giving up, but thankfully I have people in my life that give me a reason to keep fighting that darkness.
